GreenVoltis expands into the Baltics, starting with Latvia. signing first BESS contracts and bringing automated optimisation to boost storage returns and grid flexibility.
Feb 12, 2026
GreenVoltis is officially expanding into the Baltic region, starting with the Latvian energy market. We already have our first Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects under contract in Latvia, with plans to expand into Estonia and Lithuania next.
This is a milestone for us, and a practical step toward a grid that can handle more renewables, more reliably, while helping asset owners earn stronger returns.
What’s happening (and where)
Market entry: Latvia
Region: The Baltics (Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania)
Status: First BESS projects under contract in Latvia
Next: Planned rollout into Estonia and Lithuania
Why Latvia, why now
Renewables are growing fast. But growth creates one big challenge: variability.
Storage solves the variability problem, if it’s operated well. That’s where optimization comes in.
Our view is simple: clean energy scales when assets can respond to the market automatically, and the grid can stay balanced without friction.
What we’re bringing to the Baltic BESS market
GreenVoltis is bringing its asset optimisation platform to Latvia and the broader Baltics, focused on:
Intelligent, automated trading strategies for BESS assets
Operational setups designed to reduce manual work
Performance built around one goal: maximise value and returns for asset owners
What this means for asset owners
For battery owners and developers in Latvia (and soon Estonia and Lithuania), optimization isn’t a “nice to have.” It’s how storage becomes a real business.
With automated strategies, asset owners can:
capture more value from market volatility
reduce operational complexity
improve revenue performance over time
How we plan to scale: BRP partnerships in the Baltics
We believe collaboration is the fastest route to real progress.
In Sweden and Poland, we’ve grown through a hybrid model: operating as a Balance Responsible Party (BRP) ourselves while also partnering closely with existing BRPs.
We’re now open to building relationships with established BRPs in Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania.
Ideal partnership model:
GreenVoltis provides specialised optimisation services to asset owners
The BRP partner provides balance responsibility and market access
Outcome: asset owners get stronger returns, and BRPs add high-performing, well-optimised assets to their portfolio.
